My nephews are getting bigger all the time, and so I take the opportunity to record them (along with other family members) every time I get a chance.

Burglars

Yesterday I was woken up by a knock on the door. It was my neighbour letting me know that it looked like someone had been into our back gardens.

In her yard there are a couple of bicycles, but they were well locked up. In my garden, there is a large shed, and they had removed the padlock and left the door open.

05I'm a very keen amateur photographer (although you would probably never guess it from the quality of my own photographs), and I really enjoy looking at the work of professional photographers. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that I often surf photoblogs. I was recently doing this when I came across a site by Rachel Papo.

Her photos are of "girls with guns", but there is no titilation here. Although she was born in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 18 Rachel served in the Israeli Airforce as a photographer.

Worst Sci-Fi mini-series ever made

The Final Days of Planet Earth I think I've just watched the worst Sci-Fi mini series ever to appear on British Television. The story concerned a mining flight to the moon that is taken over by giant intelligent insects who wear the humans like suits so they can come back to Earth, all get jobs at City Hall, lay thousands of eggs and take over the planet. And the reason for this invasion? Its not because they like the taste of human flesh, but they want to use our bodies as fertiliser to grom the moss they like to drink.

The title of this travesty was The Final Days of Planet Earth.

I'm not sure what was worse, the wooden acting (from Daryl Hannah, Gil Bellows and the rest of the cast), the terrible script, or the low quality of the effects.

I had to check what others thought of this, and it didn't take long to find this quote on IMDB

Oh no. Oh my. Oh my goodness. Where do I even begin? The highly unique idiocy of this movie made for the telly is so jaw-dropping, I would almost recommend watching it because of how strange it is in terms of bad writing

I'm interested to know if anyone has seen a sci-fi mini series actually worse than this - but I think it will take some beating.

Photo Albums

Ame_06009I'm continuing to set up this new blog, and as one of the reasons for the blog is to display my photos, I've started experimenting. This photo is from my "Events" photo album.

New Blog

I first started an online blog using livejournal back in 2003, but I've never really used it much.

My main interest is photography and I'm now looking to take a few video clips too, and I wanted some way to share them with friends and family, so starting a new blog that had better integration with rich media seemed more sensible - so here we are!

Hopefully I'll manage to post more than once every couple of months.
