Photos added to album
Back in the distant past of the internet I used to have a personal web site. You can probably still find remnants of it by using the wayback machine at the Internet Archive. It only contained a few details about myself and linked through to some of the websites I have worked on.
A few years later I started a Livejournal. But this was more to enable me to easily compile and read friends journal entries, than for me to post my own journal.
My main hobby is photography, and I decided that I would quite like to share my photos with friends and family, so earlier this year I looked around for the best method to deliver what I was looking for. Eventually I settled on using this blog.
This blog is powered by TypePad. This is hosted software from Six Apart, the same people who created MoveableType and operate Livejournal.
The reason I chose it is because it comes complete with photograph albums, making it ideal for my purposes. However its only now that I am starting to organise my photographs and upload them.
I have just uploaded my first family photographs.
The eagle eyed amongst you will no doubt notice that these were actually taken almost two years ago (December 2004). The reason I have just been looking at these photographs is that I was putting together a small photograph album as a Christmas present for my mother, so I thought I may as well upload them here too.
Although to my mind Alex doesn't seem to have altered much in the interim, Dominic seems to have changed considerably. Even in these picutres it is obvious that Dominic is the quiet reflective brother, while Alex is a natural performer.
I often make adjustments to photographs in Photoshop, but I haven't made any alterations to any of these pictures. The only changes I have made are to convert some of them to black and white. I find black and white pictures are often much more atmospheric. I think this may well be because the colours don't distract the eye from the the main point of interest.
