My nephews are getting bigger all the time, and so I take the opportunity to record them (along with other family members) every time I get a chance.

Tom Baker

Tom_baker_1Tom Baker's publicising an interactive sci-fi quiz DVD at the moment, which explains why he's doing a blog for Blockbuster. When I think of my childhood, and watching Dr Who from behind the sofa, it is Tom that I think of.

He is fixed in my mind in a way that David Tennant can never achieve. When I hear his voice, its like hearing my grandfather offering me advice. This is no doubt why he is heard as the voice over on so many British TV adverts, such as the current one for Duracell Batteries.

I can't think of another voice that has the same affect. There are other very recogniseable voices, like Brian Blessed, but they don't make me feel the same way.

Unfortunately the blog was only for a weekly entry during the month of November, so its now over.

This is where you've been hiding out! Don't ask how I found this Journal, I was randomly browsing around Anime Europe.

Perhaps I shouldn't be saying this for someone my age but I in fact dislike the entire 'New era' Doctor Who. I remember my parents watching repeats of the original when I was younger so I grew up with it in some respects and therefore its the one I have more time for.

I hope you're keeping well Kev, its a shame we don't get to chat so much these days. If I remember correctly, you're not going to be at Minami?

Hi Donna

It was good to see your photos in the SFX special edition.

I won't be going to Southampton this year. In fact I'm not sure where I'll be going. I'll probably be at both the spring and autumn expo, and back in Paris during the summer.

I will probably go to one of the events in Leicester during the summer, but I don't know whether that will be Amecon or ALcon. It was going to be the later until I was notified about one of the organisers.

I'm still spending time on my websites, but they keep getting hacked all the time. This is mainly from people attacking the cosplay gallery or reviews module.

I've got a couple of books that should be coming out towards the end of 2007, and I was planning to upload a lot of their content to the site too, but at the moment I'm considering replacing the sites with "blog" type news/review sites (like this), and scrapping the gallery in favour of my own static gallery pages.

The trouble with allowing other people to contribute is that there is a bad minority of people (actually within the community) who use it as an opportunity to deal damage.

Anyway, I hope you are well and I hope to talk to you again soon.

My Skype details are in the panel to the left, so give me a call sometime.

Just noticed your reply! I was quite pleased with the SFX article, I'm getting better photographs these days which helps make me look better.

When you say changing to a stactic gallery, I assume you mean something similar to www.fansview.com where its just your own photographs of Cosplayers?

I think this would be a better way to do it, its a shame some people ruin it for everyone but if thats what you have to do then its got to be done.

I'd really like to see you perhaps move towards doing Private Photoshoots at the Conventions you go to. I don't know if its something you'd consider? Not that disimilar to the US photographers in fact, its something we severely lack in the UK.

Can't believe the site keeps getting hacked, some people have too much time on their hands eh?
